Welcome to Abbyandfriends!

My daughter Abigail is 18 years old, and has HLHS. HLHS is a congenital heart defect, and the most fatal. I am writing this blog for support, for the love of Abby, and to inform. Abby is a great kid with special needs, and everyone who meets Abby, loves her. HLHS is hypoplastic left heart syndrome, and simply put is an underdevelopment of the left side of the heart. HLHS may be explained in simple terms, but is no simple heart defect. Abigail underwent 3 reconstructive surgeries just so she could be with us today. We are ever so grateful to have my oldest living. Many children with HLHS are not as fortunate. I will talk about Abbys defect as well as other things related to heart defects on this blog. Enjoy your children.
